Netetou (Seeds)The nététou (Senegal) or soumbala bambara (Mali, Guinea), dadawa or iru (Nigeria, Niger) is a spice consumed in western Africa. It is made from the seeds of the néré, a tree which grows in the Sahelian regions.

Major ingredient of the African cooking the nététou arises from the transformation of the seeds of the pods of néré (Parkia spp), an arbustive legume very plentiful in the sub-region. In Senegal, fermented seed of néré, as well as spice which is made by crushing them and cooking them with some salt and some hot pepper are called " nététou ".

In Senegal, the nététou accompanies mainly dishes on base of rice and fish.
